What brought you to astrology?
I was first introduced to astrology in 2012 when a friend implored me to look up my birth chart online. After plugging in my details and getting an automated report back, I was completely blown away. I felt that this strange report knew me better than anyone I had ever met! A year later I was working behind the counter at a metaphysical shop, surrounded by psychics, tarot readers, and astrologers. And as the story goes, I became obsessed with astrology and the rest is history.
Who did you study astrology with?
My first astrology teacher was John J Oliver. After studying with him for a couple years, he recommended I go to an astrology conference to get other perspectives. So I went to my first NORWAC in 2015 and had the pleasure of studying with amazing astrologers like Alan Oken, Robert Hand, and Demetra George. And I have been traveling to conferences and learning from all kinds of astrologers ever since.
What is your specialty, or focus?
I love using astrology as an incredibly affirming and insightful tool to help clients know themselves more deeply. So perhaps you could say that my focus is using astrology as a tool for self-inquiry and inner transformation. But I also love using electional astrology for rituals, magic, and guiding spiritual ceremonies.
What are your top 3 favorite astrology books?
- “Planets in Transit”by Robert Hand
- “Cosmos & Psyche”by Richard Tarnas
- “Astrology” by Carole Taylor (because I currently teach beginners with this book!)
If you could have dinner with any historical astrologer, who would it be?
John Dee
Is there a planet, sign, or aspect you’ve been exploring lately that represents an archetype or energy that feels important to you right now?
I continue to be entranced by the Moon. In our modern, disconnected world where so many people are overly stressed, anxious, and unpresent, I come back to the wisdom of the Moon. Especially attuning to our natal Moon placement and its indications for regulating and balancing our nervous systems, as well as honoring the fullness of the Moon cycle and taking time to rest, retreat, and release, just as much as we focus on growing, creating, and doing.
Are there any additional comments you would like to make about your lecture?
Vamanos!
