What brought you to astrology?

My father began showing me his chart collection when I was three.   I began seriously studying with him at age ten.

Why do you practice astrology? What makes it juicy for you?

The practice of astrology is incredibly useful and helpful to people on manifold levels. Co-incidences between cosmic motions and character, health, appearance, are endlessly fascinating and inspire my curiosity.

What is your specialty, or focus?

The physical and more “earthly” branches of astrology have long been my strongest genres of focus: medical, electional, and vocational astrology. I’ve also spent several years in the statistical research of ‘astro-genetics’ and ‘astro-seismology’, as well as fine crafting the astrological timing of surgery dates, fertility and a great multitude of other life needs. However, I was always, and still am, a “full service astrologer”, offering expertise in most major branches of astrology to my clientele, and students. The spiritual-evolutionary, and psychological uses of astrology are also a deep and abiding interest for me. All branches are connected.

Is there a planet, sign, or aspect you’ve been exploring lately that represents an archetype or energy that feels important to you right now?

Well, you cannot help but notice what Pluto is doing in Aquarius.  I turned on my usual classical music station this week, “the station that keeps you from losing it” – and was literally greeted by a composition of singing robots.

What is your picture of astrology in the future?

I long for the day that medical clinics host astrological departments staffed with expertly trained professionals. These will assist with surgical timing, surgery, protocol onset, diagnosis, prognosis, hospital release dates, as well as fertility, matching organ donors, and other essentials such as physician-patient pairing. Many lives would potentially be saved (I’ve seen it myself!).

Are there any additional comments you would like to make about your lecture?

The straightforward, accurate usefulness of the ‘Medical Lunar Nodes’ is well worth the study and investment of any practicing astrologer.  A medical knowledge of the natal nodes; planetary transits to the natal nodes; and conversely, transiting nodes to the natal planets assists greatly with many types of readings, especially natal and transit.

If you discovered a new planet, or asteroid, what would you name it and why?

To name an asteroid or planet is an immense responsibility!  Others would then be tempted to determine the horoscopic influences of that celestial body from its name alone; or from some small portion of a story or myth corresponding to the newly elected name (as interpreted through our own cultural lens and language).

The planet or asteroid’s meaning would now be established (from the name) long before the asteroid was factually observed for several decades in the manner of our ancient predecessors.

First, I would coordinate groups of qualifying astrologers to rigorously observe the true horoscopic effects of the new planet or asteroid. We would document our findings for a decade or two, then convene. If we succeeded in confidently establishing a reliable influence, then I would wait and listen for an appropriate name to appear.
