What brought you to astrology?

A search through mathematics and philosophy for answers to the big questions of life.

Why do you practice astrology? What makes it juicy for you?

It provides a most elegant system for understanding human motivation and behavior. What makes it appealing is the limitless potential for continued learning.

What is your specialty, or focus?

Mythic archetypes, asteroids, history of astrology, ancient Hellenistic texts and techniques – all inspired by my love of classical antiquity.

Is there a planet, sign, or aspect you’ve been exploring lately that represents an archetype or energy that feels important to you right now?

I am intrigued by the traditional teaching that Saturn in the 12th house, its rejoicing place, under certain conditions indicates victory in any controversy with an enemy. This is particularly relevant in the current contentious political climate.

What is your picture of astrology in the future?

As it has been in the past. Astrology rises into prominence and then descends into an underground stream in some sort of cyclic rhythm according to the receptivity of its hosting culture.

Are there any additional comments you would like to make about your lecture and workshop?

These talks are part of the culmination of my last twenty years of study into the historical foundations of astrology.

If you discovered a new planet, or asteroid, what would you name it and why?

Vettius Valens, a second century astrology who bequeathed us a treasure trove of ancient astrological wisdom in his nine volume set The Anthology.
