What brought you to astrology?
My grandmother introduced me to astrology. On my 9th birthday, she gave me a mini Leo book and since then my passion for astrology has only grown.
Why do you practice astrology? What makes it juicy for you?
Astrology provides an incredible vehicle for the process of probing the interconnectedness of a thing – be it a moment in the context of our lives, a person in the context of their times, or a relationship within a larger organization. That’s beautiful to me.
I believe that to have a gift is to carry a responsibility to share it, so being a practicing astrologer is an act of service and a great honor for me.
What is your specialty, or focus?
My focus is Intersectionality – exploring the interplay of power, privilege, and politics both in terms of astrological analysis and with respect to the consulting room. I do offer a speciality session, an integration of astrology and reiki I call Astro-healing.
Is there a planet, sign, or aspect you’ve been exploring lately that represents an archetype or energy that feels important to you right now?
I’ve been contemplating planetary cycles a lot the last couple of years. In particular, I’ve been focused on the times during the 20th century where multiple cycles ended/began. I’ll be discussing my research in this area at NORWAC 2020 and its implications for Intersectionality and the future of astrology.
What is your picture of astrology in the future?
I think the astrology of the future will be diverse and highly specialized. I’m afraid without an inception chart for astrology itself will just have to wait and see to say more than that!
Are there any additional comments you would like to make about your lecture and workshop?
The Making the Moon Work for You lecture currently focuses on lunations (New Moons); I’m expanding that work to include the Full and Quarter Phases and I’m looking for volunteers who’d be willing to share their charts and participate in monthly Moon Work webinars beginning in December.
If you discovered a new planet, or asteroid, what would you name it and why?
I’d have to think long and hard about a planet – that’s a big deal. I might just name an asteroid after myself, that way people could see where I land in their charts. Is that too Leo of me to say?
