History repeats itself . . . unless we learn about it and from it. Astrologers in Germany before World War 2 had a robust and thriving community; Jung was but just one astrological enthusiast in a tidal wave of practioners, societies (much like WSAA), and approaches. In this lecture, I share a quarter century of doctorate-level investigation into the practice of astrology in Germany in the early 20th century. You’ll learn all about the big names, the major approaches, and the richness of the German astrological revival, before it was persecuted and nearly fully extinguished. Along the way, you’ll witness cultural variations to the recent US past, and surprising similarities to our current criticisms, gripes and favorite takes. Let’s stop reinventing the wheel and accelerate and deepen our awareness of our most recent past, so we can create a more robust astrological future that can withstand any challenges and make headway on long-standing concerns in our field.
