What brought you to astrology?
My love of psychology, philosophy, science, and math set the stage for my deep dive into astrology as a psychology undergraduate. My study of Jung led me to Dane Rudhyar’s “The Astrology of Personality.”
Why do you practice astrology? What makes it juicy for you?
The magic of seeing astrology come alive in the eyes of a student, the aha! moment in a session with a client, and the continued unfolding of the cosmos in my own life keep astrology juicy for me. I practice astrology because it is the closest I can get to understanding the meaning of life, itself.
What is your specialty, or focus?
My specialty is developing new perspectives when working with natal charts. I am enamored with the mathematical hum of a chart, especially when related to non-zodiacal aspects like semi- and sesquisquares, quintiles, and septiles. I am able to help astrologers see their work from a wider perspective that includes cultural changes, history, religion, and philosophy.
Is there a planet, sign, or aspect you’ve been exploring lately that represents an archetype or energy that feels important to you right now?
Yes, septiles seem to be impacting us with great intensity, whether we are aware of them or not. These 7th harmonic aspects create connections to metaphysical realities and disincarnate beings. They are so useful that I cannot conceive of doing a natal consultation without integrating them into the mix.
What is your picture of astrology in the future?
I could write a book on this topic as I have given it a great deal of thought over the years. I believe it will be hard to recognize astrology in the future. It will outgrow flat screens and paper once it develops into 3-dimensional holographic maps.
Are there any additional comments you would like to make about your lecture and workshop?
Neils Bohr, the creator of Quantum Physics wrote, “Prediction is very difficult, especially when it’s about the future.”
If you discovered a new planet, or asteroid, what would you name it and why?
There are very specific naming conventions as dictated by the International Astronomical Union. I would just leave it up to them!
