What brought you to astrology?
I stumbled onto a site about Sun signs during sometime in 2010 and felt so seen by mine (scorpio) that I cried. I immediately became obsessed, staying up until 2-3am reading anything I could find on the internet. Self-recognition is what brought me, being in communion with the planetary ancestors and others through this ancient language is what kept me.
Why do you practice astrology? What makes it juicy for you?
What isn’t juicy about it? There’s an endless well of knowledge which means there are overflowing entryways into wisdom. The vastness of it satisfies my personal autodidactic nature, and on another level, astrology chose me.
What is your specialty, or focus?
My specialty is providing an understanding of the planets as ancestors to this planet and the beings on it. This framework is a response to ecological grief and ancestral severance, widening the field of belonging so we can engage with a holistic reality. In my advising work, I focus on how the natal chart or planetary schemas in general can support world-building the present and future in creative ways.
Is there a planet, sign, or aspect you’ve been exploring lately that represents an archetype or energy that feels important to you right now?
I’m really interested in Saturn in Aquarius in connection with world-building, especially as they repeatedly conjoin the fixed star Deneb Algedi (23 Aquarius) as they travel in the last decan. Saturn and Deneb Algedi share a relationship to natural law, spiritual infrastructure, and integrity that I find really beautiful. I think a reconnection to these ancient principles is part of what we’re being invited into within the ongoing disruption to “world order”.
What is your picture of astrology in the future?
My dream-world for astrology is that we continue creating ways to engage with the planetary ancestors beyond readings, transit reports, and teaching. I want to see creative communal experiences and places for astrologers and non-astrologers to get to know the planetary ancestors. I want to see astrologers in world-building positions. I want to see astrology be honored as a sacred technology while also being distributed as a reparative resource for anyone who wants it.
Are there any additional comments you would like to make about your lecture and workshop?
My teachings on the medicinal frameworks the exaltation schema can provide are experimental, experiential, and centered in curiosity rather than intellectual certainty. In other words, if you’re allergic to the non-linear and mystical it might not be for you!
If you discovered a new planet, or asteroid, what would you name it and why?
I would ask the planet/asteroid what their name already is and wait for the answer to arrive through ritual, synchronicities, or that clear inner voice.
