What brought you to astrology?
Many years ago, I was obsessed my garden. My partner at the time got sick of hearing about vegetables, and got me The Only Astrology Book You’ll Ever Need. After reading that book, I was hooked. I began studying transits, and everything fell in line from there. Since then, I have never been bored :).
Why do you practice astrology? What makes it juicy for you?
Astrology remains interesting through many accounts of *observable evidence*. The many arguments against astrology keep things lively, and yet astrology always wins. Also, the act of delving into each new life is fascinating. The astrological chart offers a deep and manifold look into a person’s life, psyche, manifestation, and more. Astrology is simply the best.
What is your specialty, or focus?
Throughout the years, I have touched on many aspects of astrology. Some people would describe me as a survey teacher, as I have researched and written on various threads in the field. I just finished a monumental project, a textbook/workbook on Physical Astrology and Astro-Kinesiology entitled Astral Somatica 1: Essays and Activities on the Astral Body. This book is available on Amazon and through the Moira Press. I see many clients regarding physical issues, and enjoy this process. I am also studying astrological color theory by watching sunrises and sunsets.
Is there a planet, sign, or aspect you’ve been exploring lately that represents an archetype or energy that feels important to you right now?
I am truly interested in transmuting my natal Sun square Mars. Transiting Uranus hit the aspect throughout the last several years, and now Saturn and Pluto are fueling the fire. In fact, I am interested in Mars struggles in general, and the lives of hyper-martial individuals. Warriors. I can often be heard discussing *Passionate Mars Syndrome*, as if it’s the new Mercury in retrograde. Mars is a real issue in people’s lives.
What is your picture of astrology in the future?
Astrology is becoming more mainstream through the younger generations. Both the Uranus in Scorpio and Pluto in Scorpio generations have taken to the study. Gender theory and Black Lives Matter have been strong movements in the *identity politics* conversation. Astrology knows a great deal beyond this level of identity politics. The focus on spirit could take the cultural conversation to new levels. We could be discussing ideas of gender as a fluctuating state, overlapping the cultural layer with the astrology layer, and much more. In the future, astrology could be known as a strong theoretical animal among cultural theorists, psychologists, teachers, and so on.
Are there any additional comments you would like to make about your lecture and workshop?
There is nothing like physical astrology! Participants will leave knowing a great deal about their astral-physical form. Moreover, practicing astrologers will be able to apply the techniques learned to any chart/client/individual. This information is very useful!
